Words at my fingertips

I don't often paint my fingernails but when I do I like to go for something fun like this. I cut little words out magazine and stick them on my nails.

I start with a coloured layer - usually black cos I'm edgey like that - then a clear coat, stick on the word and then a lot more clear polish so that the paper is completely covered and waterproof.

Here are a couple of other nail art ideas I've recently come across:

Green aliens from The Ramblings of Crazy Woman.

And a cute panda which I saw here.

Hair bands galore!

Personal note on my hair: I dyed my hair with a 6-8 week semi-permanent. In April. It's still there!

100th post

This is my 100th blog post!
Which I think is a perfectly good excuse for cake.

I made some plain and some chocolate cupcakes and decorated them with fondant icing, butter cream icing, chocolate spread, sprinkles and chocolate star.

Definitely a nom nom nom moment
A 'noment' if you will.

My Model Room: #11 Drawers, shelves, photos

I've finished the shelves, drawers and pictures in this little corner of my room.

I need to make my CD player which sits on top of these drawers, and fill the little shelves with CDs and cassettes.

Here are my school class photos. For those of you who are interested and fancy squashing your face up to the computer screen, in the top photo - Year 4 - I'm second row, second from left, in the next - Playgroup - I'm second row, first from right and in the bottom one - Reception - I'm second row, first from left.

I need to fill these book shelves with books. That'll be a fun challenge...

I also put a plug socket behind the drawers. You can't usually see it but I love the details.

My Model Room: #10 Airing cupboard door

I had a lot of fun recreating the door to the airing cupboard in my room because of all the photos and posters.

And I didn't shy away from the details. There's the door hinges, which were originally cocktail sticks...

and the door handle.

I also made the plastic wall hanging photo display thing using sticky back plastic and actual photos of me and my friend. I used the tiny photo thumbnails you get when you get prints developed at a store, and they just happen to be one tenth the size of the originals.
I even included tiny CDs which I use for decoration, made out of small circle bits of mirror with a sticker in the middle.

And I've got exact copies of some of the posters I have displayed; Taylor Swift, Jason Behr, Pushing Daisies and a Kenny Chesney tour poster which I ripped out of my People Country magazine. I wish I could read that magazine regularly, but you can't get it in England.

This is one of my favourite parts of the project so far.
