Colour Me Magnets

I have a new thing that I made and am really excited about!

Magnets that you colour in!
I love colouring in!

I've used the same magnetic paper that I made the gangsta words with, and it turns out felt tip pens draw splendidly on it.

So far I have two sets; cupcakes and teacups.
If they take off then I'll make more. I'm thinking dinosaurs...

I'm really proud of the packaging too.
I now want to print on everything other than plain white copy paper.

These magnets are of course available from my Etsy shop; cupcakes and teacups.

Etsy update

Hi guys. Being done with my uni work means that I've had time to make some new things for my Etsy shop.
Yay!

I've listed some cute little bow necklaces.

And some new wire word necklaces.
Boom!

And while I'm promoting myself, here is the link to my art website (or you can just click the Art button above).
There you will find my miniatures and my paintings all in one place.

I got my business cards yesterday ready for the degree show.
I'm like a legit artist now.

Yay

Yesterday, during my post-assessment-deadline Dawson's Creek fest (*cough* 11 episodes *cough*) I made these wire necklaces like the ones I've made before and are in my Etsy shop.

This time we've got a gold 'yay'.

And a cute little silver bow.

They're made by wrapping shiny thread around garden wire and glueing along the way.

These two should be in my Etsy shop in the next couple of weeks.

Light it up

The items in my Etsy shop were up for renewal so I took this as an opportunity to improve the photos.
After getting some good advice on the forums I made a simple light box (see how here) and that, plus a bit of photoshopping, has made my photos a lot better.

I get better photos when I use the light box outside in direct sunlight but I live in England and it's September.
There's not a lot of direct sunlight.
So using two desk lamps inside will have to do. I just have to make sure I set the white balance to tungsten.

I've also added a new button on my header where you will find all of my miniature work. Hopefully that will start filling up more when I go back to uni in a couple of week.

Sha!

I really like the look of words made out of wire so I decided to make a necklace using that idea.
I got some garden wire, tackled it into shape, and then very carefully wrapped shiny thread around it.

Necklaces like this typically spell out someones name or the word 'love'. Did I do that? Oh no.

I went for the word 'sha'. If that can be considered a word.

Why sha? Just listen to the beginning of this song.

Now, I'm not completely mad for Miley, but this song happens to be my ringtone.
And I've been known to sign off emails and texts with 'sha'.

Are there any words that you use out of context, youknow, for funsies?

I was really happy with the way the necklace turned out so I made more and put them on my Etsy.

Yes I am one of those annoying people who says 'lol' out loud, but I don't intend to change!
This necklace, 'The Golden Lol', got snatched up within a few hours of me listing it.
It's the first thing I've sold on Etsy! So exciting.

This necklace is still available though. Check it out.
I like to mix things up with my greetings instead of sticking with 'hello'. I go for 'ahoy', 'aloha' even a friendly 'whaddup'.

Bargain time #3

I'm back home for the Easter holidays and on Saturday I hit up a jumble sale with my Mum and scored this lot.

This bunch of fabric for 40p.
40p!
The mint green polka dot and that funky brown stuff are my favourites.
I'm thinking bows. Lots and lots of bows.

I also got Buckaroo for 20p to join my 99p Kerplunk from Oxfam. Oh yes.

In other news I finally updated my Etsy shop.
Check it out!

Etsy

One of my goals for this summer was to finally get an Etsy shop up and running, and after finishing up some sewing, taking a bazillion photos and finding out posting prices I've done it!

At the moment it's only 3 products, with 5 different versions of each. I just want to test the waters first, and if those sell well then I'll add more.

Please take a look and tell me what you think, constructive criticism welcome as I'm very new to Etsy.
